Aussie Yarns
One of my passions is to write Short stories or "Yarns", these i have written over a few years, loosely based on my time working in the Outback of Australia.
The two stories, on "Claude the Crow" were of my time living in Sydney, about how a family of crows adopted me for awhile.
I have over 50 stories already written and in time will load them and new stories to this page.
I started writing these short stories, to give my mother a laugh, while sitting in front of the fire, i would create a few paragraphs, then hand her the papers.
Just give her a couple of minutes and she would smile.
Each of these stories is based on part truths, most of the ideas came events in my past and from the blokes in the "Outback"
The Stories are copyrighted to me, but please do pass on this website to your friends.

One of my favourite meals in the "Outback" is below.
please try it, let me know how you go.
KANGAROO (MEAT) BALLS
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp crushed dried red chilies, such as piquins
1 tsp. fresh ginger root
1 Tblsp. fresh cilantro, chopped
1 tsp. fresh ginger root, finely grated
1 Tblsp. un-dried tomatoes, finely minced
Salt to taste
2 Tblsp. fine dry bread crumbs
1 lb. kangaroo meat or lean ground beef, minced
Vegetable oil for frying
Combine the garlic, chilies, cilantro, ginger, tomatoes, salt and bread crumbs
and mix well. Pinch off egg-shaped pieces of meat and flatten them in the palm
of your hand. place a small amount of the chili mixture in the centre and roll
up carefully to close. Continue until all the meat and filling is used.
Heat a large heavy fry pan over moderately high heat and fry the meatballs,
turning constantly, till browned and cooked through. Serve with hot steamed
rice or cooked noodles, or with a salad.
History: Recipe is a favorites of my mates from the bush. I grew up with this
recipe and have made it numerous times for my own family.
